EXECUTIVE BOARD
Brian Simuro
Brian Simuro is the President and founder of the Cops Care Cancer Foundation. Brian prides himself on knowing how much assistance the foundation has been able to give individual families and the Lucile Packard Children's Hospital at Stanford since the foundation's inception. He looks forward to expanding the foundation's mission to other local police departments and maybe one day having a chapter in Southern California. Brian has been with the San Jose Police Department for 10 years and is currently assigned as a detective in the Vice/Special Investigations Unit. In his spare time Brian enjoys going to the beach, jet skiing, and playing sports. Most importantly, Brian is a cancer survivor and he wants children to see that there is life after cancer. He always tells the kids, "Once you win your battle with cancer, you can do anything you want with your life including being a Police Officer."
Fabian Torrico
Fabian Torrico is the Vice President of the Cops Care Cancer Foundation. Fabian has been a San Jose Police officer for the past ten years and is currently assigned as a detective in Special Investigations, Vice Unit. He has also been assigned to Special Operations, Metro Unit. Fabian has seen the foundation grow since the inception and is very proud of the hard work and dedication of the board members. During his spare time he enjoys spending time with his family and friends. Fabian believes that with hard work and dedication anything is possible. Fabian's goal is to have different CCCF chapters throughout the state.
Mark Womack
Mark was born and raised in the San Jose area. He received a degree in managerial economics from UC Davis in 1993. He was hired by the San Jose Police Department in 1996. He went through the police academy with Brian Simuro and Fabian Torrico. Mark was one of the founding directors of the Cops Care Cancer Foundation. He is currently the office manager of the foundation.
BOARD OF DIRECTORS
Tomas Torrico
Tomas Torrico became involved with the Cops Care Cancer Foundation at the urging of President Brian Simuro and Tomas's brother the Vice President of the foundation Fabian Torrico in 2004. He began as a volunteer at several of the fund raising events including the annual golf and poker tournaments as well as the Fantasy Flight. Tomas was also involved with the solicitation of donations from local businesses in and around the San Jose area. In 2005 he was invited to join the foundation as a member of the advisory board due to his commitment to the foundation. Later that year he was asked to join the Board of Directors as the co-Marketing Director. Tomas is very excited with the direction of the foundation and is looking forward to the continued success of all the events and donation programs.
Frank Keffer Jr.
Frank Keffer is the Marketing Director for the Cops Care Cancer Foundation. He volunteered with the Foundation initially by helping solicit donations for their events and then was given the full time position. Frank has been employed by the San Jose Police Dept. for the past 8 yrs and is currently assigned as a Financial Crimes Detective. He also serves on the Santa Clara County Board of National Guard and Veterans Affairs as a Commissioner and assists with an organization involved with sending care packages to the troops. Frank wants to help the Foundation grow throughout California and establish chapters in other states.
Leana Angkham
Leana Angkham is the Events Director for the Cops Care Cancer Foundation. After being an Intern and then a staff member for a year and a half, Leana decided that becoming a Director for the Foundation would be a great next step! She recently received her B.S. in Recreation and Leisure Studies with an emphasis is Tourism/Commercial Recreation from San Jose State University. She is currently the Executive Meeting Manager at The Fairmont Hotel in Downtown San Jose. She has seen the Foundation grow tremendously since she was an Intern. She is excited about this new role and looks forward to planning and implementing all future events for the Foundation.
Jenn Toledo
Jenn Toledo is an intern for the Cops Care Cancer Foundation. She is a second year student at San Jose State University studying to be a Pediatrics Oncology Social Worker. She is a part of the Freshman Orientation and Transition Program, as well as the survivorship chair for the American Cancer Society's Colleges Against Cancer club on campus. When she was 16 years old, she was diagnosed with Leukemia and has wanted to make a difference ever since. She wants to be able to share her story with others who are undergoing their cancer battle. Jenn is proof that one can be successful after surviving cancer. She enjoys what the foundation does and is proud to be a part of this team.
